Range figures are from VinFast and depend on rider weight, pace, terrain, weather and road conditions. The tours we run are 18–22 km, well inside the city-tour range even on the lowest assist level, so you will never run out of battery.
Why we chose the VF DrgnFly
- Torque sensor, not just cadence — the motor matches your effort smoothly, which is far more natural in Hanoi traffic than cheap PAS systems.
- Vietnamese-made at the VinFast plant in Hai Phong — spare parts and service are available locally, not shipped from China.
- Removable 640 Wh battery we charge inside at our workshop, not at the kerb.
- Design inspired by the Lý-dynasty dragon (hence "DrgnFly") — a nod to Vietnamese heritage that goes down well with guests.
- UL 2271 and UL 2849 battery and system safety standards — the two certifications that matter after the 2023–2026 battery-fire news cycle.
Helmet & gear
- Certified cycling helmet (EN 1078), adjustable, washed between tours.
- High-visibility vest when visibility is low.
- Rain poncho on rainy days.
- Front light and rear reflector pre-fitted; USB-C phone holder on the handlebar on request.
Vietnamese law
The VF DrgnFly is sold by VinFast as xe đạp điện (electric bicycle). Under Vietnamese law an e-bike with a motor up to 250 W and electrical-assist cut-off at 25 km/h is classified as a bicycle. No driving licence is required. It can use city streets, bike lanes and dyke lanes, including routes that are closed to motorbikes.
The VF DrgnFly has a throttle too, but it is still a bicycle because of the 250 W / 25 km/h limits — same as European pedelecs with a walking-assist throttle.
Insurance
Every guest on a BikeTourHanoi tour is covered by Eco Trip Asia's commercial passenger-service insurance for the duration of the tour (vehicle, third-party and personal accident). Full policies on ecotripasia.com/policies/ ↗.
